However, as attacks today primarily target data backups, you need storage systems that have extensive integrated measures to protect the stored data.

To prevent data loss due to hardware component failure, our storage systems have a unique combination of protective measures. Each of our storage media always contains 12 data carriers. Redundancy means that up to four of them can fail at the same time without data being lost. We also install data carriers from three different batches or - where possible - three different models. In this way, we prevent correlated failure due to serial errors.
All systems are designed for geo-redundancy. By replicating the data to a second location, it can still be restored even if one location fails completely, for example due to a disaster or theft.

Unlike standard IT, secondary storage systems are long-term investments. Regularly migrating the enormous amounts of data generated by backup & archiving costs a disproportionate amount of time and money. In addition, every data migration increases the risk of data loss and breaches of legal requirements.
Our storage systems are designed to run for 10 years or more. A long-term maintenance contract accompanies the systems over their entire service life and covers far more than just the replacement of individual components. We see it as our responsibility to ensure that maintenance work is only completed when you have full access to all your data again.
We attach great importance to the long-term compatibility of storage media across generations. The separation of storage media and server components allows us to keep up with the latest developments.
